Overview
The Marangu route, nicknamed the Coca-Cola route, offers the most economical path to the summit. It features sleeping huts at each campsite equipped with solar lighting and cozy beds. Accommodations are communal, with sponge mattresses and pillows provided. Dining huts foster a lively atmosphere where climbers from diverse backgrounds share meals. Typically a 5-day ascent, extendable to 6 days for enhanced acclimatization, allowing for rest at Horombo or a climb up Mawenzi peak.
